Some important
advice about Texas temporary health insurance
These plans are designed for individuals and families that will need
to bridge their coverage from one plan to another or need coverage for
a short period of time. It is not wise to use these plans as long-term
solution. Since they have a limited coverage period, you can find yourself
at renewal time with a condition that would not let you continue with
the plan. In other words, you will be screwed. I will gladly write a
simple inexpensive plan for you if you are not sure of the duration
of your needs.
Can I continue
coverage?
Temporary health insurance is issued on either a specific lenght of
time basis or month to month with a maximum term. If the need for temporary
health insurance continues, you may apply for a new coverage period.
Your application is subject to the eligibility and underwriting requirements.
Furthermore the coverage is not continuous. Any condition that incurred
expense during the last coverage period will be treated as a Pre-Existing
Condition, and excluded under the next coverage period. Applicants over
the age of 64 are not eligible to re-apply for coverage.
What Expenses re
Covered?

Although the above list provides a summary of covered medical services, it is not an insurance contract and only the actual contract defines coverage. Benefits may vary by state, by plan and by the terms of the insurance contract. The policy itself sets forth in detail the rights and obligations of both you and Assurant Health. Once you receive your Short Term Medical Policy, please read it carefully. |
